what's your normal? {day three}

A few months ago, I took an online class from the Influence Network on thriving in transition. It was a total God-send as I prepared to move our family, and it gave me some real tools to use. (I'll add more info on the class at the bottom of this post if you're interested.)

One great question from this class was, "What makes you feel normal?"

Ding ding ding! As I read over my class notes this last week, this question jumped off of the page. Right now I feel less like normal Mackenzie and more like a pregnant zombie who's watched a season and a half of Scandal on Netflix in two weeks. Our routine, the way I take care of our home, even the grocery stores I shop at, have all been switched up. There doesn't seem to be a lot of normal in my current life.

Reading this question 1. validated how wonky I've been feeling because I realize that many of my normal routines + ways of life are on hold, and 2. got me thinking - what is my normal?

Jessi, who taught the Influence Network class, suggested adding a few things into your day that make life feel a little more normal. These things won't make all the change go away, but they can help ease the transition. They might help me feel like I'm living my life instead of someone else's life.

This question is what inspired the title of this 31 day series, and it's one I'm asking myself everyday. Throughout this month, I'll be sharing some of the "normals" that I'm adding into my schedule.
This starts with blogging. One reason I'm doing this 31 day series is so that I will write more often. I fell of the blogging wagon a bit as we packed and moved and now that I'm preggo - but it's something I really miss. Furthermore, blogging is something that makes me feel like me. So writing is the first "normal" I'm adding. And to tell you the truth, I already feel a little bit more like Mackenzie.

What's your normal? Whether you're in transition or not: what things do you do, or do you have in your home, or are a part of your life, that make life feel like your life? I'd love to hear.

The Influence Network offers several classes a month, on a wide variety of topics. For network members, all of their past classes are available to purchase for only $10! A membership is as low as $5 a month, and there are many more perks to joining the network than just the classes. The Thriving in Transition class can be found in the member area of the network website.

This post is day three of my 31 Days to Normal experiment. I'm writing for 31 days, as I seek to thrive in a season of major transition. Click the circle below to see the rest of the posts in this series!
