a transition playlist

Sometimes I think big life changes resemble the part in Yahtzee where you put the dice in the cup, shake them up, and then throw them all out onto the table to see what you get.
Except in my scenario the dice is everything I know to be normal. My "normal" tends to get shaken up and then spilled out all over my everyday living. Then I slowly start to put the pieces back together, creating a new normal, and feeling a little crazy in the process.

What gets me through the Yahtzee-cup-madness is filling myself with truth. Continually. (Along with gut-honest prayers and the people around me.) I have to remind myself who my Rock is, who I am, and of the goodness of God. I might still feel a little crazy; but truth keeps me putting one foot in front of the other instead of sitting with my knees tucked up to my chest and crying all day long. (Not that I've ever resorted to that before...)

Filling myself with truth tends to look like reading the Word of God, talking to people I trust, and listening to music. Today I want to share some of the music that I'll be blasting in my earbuds as we move. These songs point me to Christ, they remind me of His strength that enables me to obey Him, and of His goodness. They share with me the Gospel, which says that though I was once lost, I'm now found and that I am secure as a daughter of God the Father.

Praise the Lord - Kristene Mueller

At Your Name (Yaweh) - Phil Wickham
You Never Let Go - Matt Redman

If you need some truth, try listening to some of these songs! And while you're at it, give Psalm 91 a read. We can never have enough truth running through our minds and soaking into our hearts.

Where do you turn when you need some truth in the midst of crazy?

Also, here's two things you shouldn't miss if you're going through a transition!
1. This awesome post on Transitioning Well - I wholeheartedly say "yes" to all the things Sarah talks about in this blog post.

2. The Influence Network hosted an AMAZING class on how to "Survive & Thrive in Transition." I CANNOT recommend it enough. If you are a member of the Network (as low as $5 or $10/month), you can get a copy of this class for $10. This class is available for network members only...so you should get on that! :) Find it HERE.
