The Girl (And Boy!) Behind the Blog!

You could call today's "Girl Behind the Blog" video any of the following:

"The time I made my husband vlog with me."

"The time we gave 6 quick tips on thriving in your marriage."

"The time my husband made a pretty funny short joke about me, for all the world to see."

Whatever you want to call it, here is Brian and I sharing 6 tips on how to thrive in your marriage, and being slightly awkward in the process. Enjoy!

Music: Phil Wickham's "Always Forever" - the song we first danced to at our wedding!

This isn't an exclusive list by any means. Also, I don't claim to be a marriage expert - we definitely have our issues. But hopefully we've learned a few things after 4 years of marriage and an adorable baby :) and we're happy to share the little wisdom that we have with you!

I'd love to hear what helps your marriage, or the marriages you see around you, to thrive!

(And congrats Ashley on one year of The Girl Behind the Blog! You have created an awesome community!)

  3. Great tips! The whole holding onto things - I'm bad at that! I want my space, and that feeling can last awhile, my husband is fix it right away, so that's umm...interesting.

My tip - LAUGHTER. Our marriage would not survive without it.

Definitely can testify to keeping your individual relationships with Jesus the priority, serving each other as well as others, and forgiving 100% all the time! Loved "meeting" you two! 9. I love y'alls tips! All of them are so true and can really make a difference in marriage. One thing that has helped me in my marriage is to actively listen to the other person. This has helped clue me and Dylan a lot since we used to talk at each other and listen at each other instead of listening to each other. Thank you for the great vlog!

  11. These were some great tips!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Seems like you have learned a lot in the past 4 years. Hehe
Something we could benefit from is having thriving relationships. My husband has a lot of friends since he works -- but since I am a stay at home wife and we moved to a new state last yr I have not met many friends. I know it would be good for our marriage if I ventured and made friends!

  12. Mackenzie,
This is great. I loved the first "tip". Sometimes I get so down on the fact that my husband and I don't have the exact same relationship with God or that we don't do all these things together, but it's so true... my relationship with God is not dependent on his relationship with God! Thank you for that truth!
