After an amazing month in Washington, today we are headed back to Montana. As you read this I am probably trying to snooze in the car. Or more realistically, I'm probably calming down my screaming kiddo. Either way, I am both happy and sad to be returning home.

Our time in Washington was wonderful. It was refreshing, encouraging, and full of moments that we'll remember forever! Like Nicholas rocking his adorable new Carhart hat. Or waking up in the morning to find my 4 year old nephew wearing a Halloween costume because of an "accident." Or having Brian's mom make Nicholas giggle in a way that I've never heard him laugh before. While we've been in Washington, Nicholas has learned how to scoot around on the floor, he met all of his living great-grandparents, and he found a new hobby - grunting and squawking like crazy.

Washington, you've been good to me. I'll miss you. But I'll probably be pretty busy enjoying the Montana sunshine, my own bed (YIPEE!), and (hopefully) getting Nicholas back onto a schedule. Ah, home.

  1. I am sure it is bittersweet. So hard to say goodbye to family, but I am sure you are going to be happy to sleep in your own bed.

And I love that you have a grunting baby boy now. Mine has been grunting from day one. hilarious.

Hope you have safe and peaceful travels.

  2. He is such a cutie! I miss having babies sometimes. Glad you are home safe & sound. :)
