And this is why sisters have babies at the same time...

My older sister and I had babies within 3 weeks of each other; Nicholas was born December 4th, and my nephew Sam was born the 23rd. Did we plan this? No. Is it awesome to have sons so close in age? Yes!

Since I live in Montana, we haven't had much "we're moms together!" time. So now we are soaking it up! We walk our strollers side by side, feeling like the coolest sisters in the world. We may or may not have belted out Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men in a fro-yo shop the other day, while her 4-year-old son watched in horror. I guess my nephew hasn't yet learned that sisters are supposed to serenade each other with 90's pop hits in public places. Duh.

Last week my mom was delighted to take me, my sis, and our boys  to a nearby farm. What's not to love about scenic train rides, petting zoos, and a very happy 4-year-old? Here's a few pictures from the day...

On the train - (Nicholas mostly just cared about cramming a toy into his mouth)

My nephew LOVES trains, so he was pretty pumped!

Doesn't my nephew have the most beautiful eyes?

Nicholas was not so into the donkeys...

But Mack was definitely into "driving" my mom around!

By the end of the day we tired these boys out! (Although I think us adults were even more exhausted.) And of course we had to end the day with ice cream!

This upcoming weekend my entire family is headed to Yakima to visit my older brother and his family! You bet that there will be plenty of sister/sister-in-law time. And you can count on us continuing to horrify my nephew with our awkwardness. It's just the natural outcome of sister time. Ahh, family.

  1. That is awesome that they are so close together. Me and my brother had baby boys 10 days apart. It is so fun to have babies with siblings!

  2. How awesome that you have a sister that has a baby the same age as Nicholas. My sister won't be having babies for years (Lord willing)...she is only 16!

Looks like you all are having a great time making memories together! Also, I have to say I loved your guest post on Our Crazy Beautiful! I am praying about what you were talking about in that post.

    Happy Wednesday!
