My Baby, The Daredevil

I hope you all had a great weekend, and a wonderful Father's Day! The sun has decided to hang out in Montana for the last few days, and I'm hoping that it's here to stay. Since the sun has been shining and it generally stays light out until 10pm, our family has taken up a new hobby: going on walks after dinner! I love going on walks, not to be confused with hikes - I don't do those. Walks are especially fun now that Nicholas enjoys looking at everything we pass. He also enjoys melting the hearts of everyone we walk by. It's the cheeks, I tell ya.

On Friday night we left our house around 7pm to go on a short walk; we didn't get home until close to 9! Nicholas is just too popular. We stopped to say hi to a few friends, and it turned into Nicholas's first skateboarding lesson. It was quite entertaining for him, and for everyone watching. I was the only one who was getting a little nervous and kept shouting "be careful!" at my husband. I'm a mom, what can I say? I have to get used to the idea that boys will be boys. I think someone should invent a brown paper bag dispenser that fits into your diaper bag for when you need to hyperventilate. It would come in handy for all the moms of daredevils!

I might be a little overprotective. Brian was holding onto him or had his hand about two inches away from Nicholas the entire time. Here's my little daredevil!

If "skateboarding" makes me nervous, I'm going to need much thicker skin. Let's just hope he doesn't want to play football!

Linking up today with Finding Beauty in the Ordinary!

  1. Those pictures have the ability to melt a person's soul. Your son is precious. Do I even mention the love that I see in those pictures?

  2. Dear Lord, help our mama hearts & minds as we raise these fearless little boys! :)

I have already shared with my husband how I don't know how I would handle it our boy chose to play football. oh my soul.

    happy monday!

  3. I just can't get over how precious he is!! I am super excited to see what the rest of your children will look like :)

    xoxo Vanessa

  4. He's just such a cutie. I'm not surprised your walk took a while if he was busy charming everyone.
I'm popping over from Finding Beauty In The Ordinary and glad I did. What a lovely blog you have. X
