Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

I crave chocolate most days. Most minutes, really. There's a place in my soul that only chocolate can fill. I realize that I might have a bit of a problem, but here's me being honest.

My husband hates chocolate (seriously, who hates chocolate?!) so I usually end up eating all of the baked goods in our house. Which is why I don't bake very often. But earlier this week, when my chocolate-resisting defenses were down, and I stumbled across this recipe. Anything banana + chocolate = in my belly immediately.

Here is a simple and delicious recipe for Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies from How Sweet It Is:

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2/3 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

(I halved the recipe so that I wouldn't eat a million cookies, and they turned out great! But the recipe above is the original recipe.)

1. Preheat oven to 400.

2. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together, and set aside.

3. Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.

4. Mix in the mashed bananas. Add the flour mixture, and stir until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.

5. Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets. (I like using parchment paper.)

6. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes. Let cool, and enjoy!

These cookies are SO good. They are soft and cake-y, almost like banana bread in a cookie. What's not to love?
