I find myself smiling so much more lately. A few nights ago we were Skyping with my husband's mom for her birthday and the apples of my cheeks hurt because I was smiling so much. They say that being a parent changes you, and it sure has changed me. I feel so blessed because I feel happier, more at peace, more patient, and more smiley. If that's a word. (Although I'm sure when Nicholas is a toddler and is opening all of my cupboards and flushing things down the toilet, that whole "more patient thing" will no longer apply.)
A few reasons I'm smiling lately:
1. For the past few nights, Nicholas has let out a little giggle in his sleep. It's the most endearing thing in the world.
2. This post-bath time face:
3. Ashley's blog. She is funny, sincere, and just plain adorable! It may sound nerdy but I think we'd be friends in real life. I don't mean that to seem as stalker-ish as it sounds.
4. Waking up at 7am several times this week - after falling asleep at 11pm. My kiddo is experimenting with sleeping through the night, and I like it!
5. The weather has been nice enough to take a walk in the sunshine with a friend! It was so warm that I even worked up a sweat! Although that may have been because I am severely out of shape and wheeze like someone who has smoked for 50 years. Either way.
6. Both my mom and my man love to tell people what a "natural mom" I am. I couldn't think of a better, more encouraging compliment.
7. The fact that people have found my blog through searching "I'm so short" or "Short, chubby, and pregnant." I think both of those are hilariously funny.
