The Sweet Moments

Earlier this week I shared about what I'm learning through life's curve-balls. One thing I've realized is that the hard things that we go through often make the sweet moments that we experience even sweeter. On difficult days, these little moments give me perspective. I don't ever want to overlook the small things that bring me joy and are worth celebrating!

I'd like to share with you with some of the sweet moments we've had this week!

God blessed us with a new car! We have been looking for a new car for several months and we finally found the right one! It was the exact type of car we wanted, cost literally half of what we had budgeted for, and has a lot less miles than any car we thought we could afford. Plus I think it's really cute! This car really is a dream come true for us. Our last car had a lot of....character. (i.e. small holes all over from an angry previous owner who stabbed the interior with scissors, broken AC, it was super noisy, etc.) So to us, this new car feels like a Mercedes! :)

We just had to go out and celebrate our new car! A friend who was at the restaurant knew  how long we've been waiting to buy a new car, so they sent over dessert to congratulate us! Can I just say that pizza cookies are the best dessert EVER! Whoever thought up the combination of a huge, warm and gooey chocolate chip cookie smothered with ice cream and chocolate sauce knows the true way to a woman's heart. I don't need fancy jewelry, a huge shopping budget, or romantic vacations. Just give me some chocolate and some ice cream and I'll be happy forever.

Nicholas was so excited about our new car that he did this:

Not really, but I couldn't resist sharing this picture. He's giving me a "don't interrupt me while I shove my toes in my mouth, thank you" look. I'm not sure where he inherited them from, but I'm pretty sure this kid's feet are the fattest little piggies you'll ever see. 9 out of 10 times they are covered in slobber. Nicholas has also decided to sleep for 8 to 11 hours every night. Waking up at 7 or 8am makes me feel energized enough to climb Mt. Everest. If I liked hiking. Which I don't. So actually I feel energized enough to clean my house and take a shower.

Thank you for joining me in my little celebrations for the week! And thank you to everyone who said hello yesterday through comments on this blog and on Facebook! I got to meet lots of new friends from Casey's giveaway yesterday!

While not everyday is perfect, I love sharing these sweet moments with you. These are the moments that I'll look back to on the hard days and remember that I am loved by the Lord, by my family, and by my friends. Have a wonderful Friday!
