Pint-Sized Moments: Giving Hand-Me-Downs to 8-Year-Olds

I'm a little bit ashamed to admit this, but there have been several occasions where I have shopped in the little boys section. I promise that I don't do this anymore! But there was one successful purchase:

I loved this jacket! It was a warm and cozy North Face jacket that was on sale! Probably because it was a little boys medium. But I'd like to overlook that little detail.
Last year my friend's son was looking for a new jacket. I had another coat that fit me a lot better than this one, so I gave him my North Face jacket. He was 8. Now his 7 year old brother wears it too. I'm justifying this purchase by the fact that I was able to help out a friend! I guess I can look forward to a cheaper clothes budget in the future when I can share clothes with my children. I just hope that I have a daughter someday.

  1. Me and my boys have been very great-ful for that purchase! It has been well used, and may need to retire at the end of this season.....or be passed on to another little boy :)

  2. Is that picture from my cabin?? It looks so much like it......

  3. I'm so glad it's gotten good use :) Maybe a future Garrigan can use it :)

  4. It is :) So long ago! We should go there again sometime!

  5. I was thinking the same thing! Looks like Lake Cle Elum.

  6. Love this story and how much it makes me smile!
