The Little Things

I bet my title made you think that I was going to write about celebrating "the little things" in life and then make a play on words about how little I am...but you're wrong!

Well, sort of wrong. While I do enjoy celebrating the little things in life, I'm not going to talk about myself as one of those "little things." :) Each day of my life is not always filled with monumental or life-changing circumstances, but since becoming a mother I'm learning to get excited about the small things that bring me joy! To me, the little milestones and small triumphs are cause for celebration. Here's a few "little things" that are worth throwing a (teeny) party for!

- Talking to my sister on the phone this week. She is one of my very best friends, but since she's a busy middle-school teacher and mom to two young boys, we don't always get to talk. A conversation with her always fills a special spot in my heart.

- Nicholas finally fitting into his Patagonia jacket! It proves what an outdoorsy, Montana family we are! (For everyone who knows me, feel free to laugh at that statement.) A friend gave us this jacket and I've been impatiently waiting for him to be big enough to wear it! It's reversible and adorable. (Plus, his father looks pretty darn good in this photo. I'm one lucky woman.)

- The crazy squealing, spit bubble-inducing excitement that Nicholas gets out of playing in his exer-saucer. Thank you Walmart! I've never seen him get so pumped about a toy. (Please note the baby v-neck that he is sporting. He's so hip.)

- The fact that it was warm enough this week to debut my new Target sandals and to drink iced coffee. (Do you like my pedicure? It's from the month before I had Nicholas. Yeah, I get out a lot.)

- The way Nicholas's cheeks sag when he's tired.

- The sunny weather also allowed us to sit in our backyard to enjoy the sunshine, and Nicholas got to ride in a baby swing for the first time! I may have enjoyed it more than he did, but that's ok.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend filled with many little moments to celebrate!
