Easter Weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! Ours was filled with sunshine, friends, and babies who decided to sleep 7 or 8 hours at night. It was glorious.

Our family of 3 went to church and then spent the afternoon (and evening) with friends. Don't you just love the friends that you plan on spending a few hours with for lunch...and then it's 10:30 at night and you're still talking? We are blessed.

Here is the cheesiest picture ever:

Nicholas & I colored Easter eggs. (i.e. I wrote his name on this pretty egg that my friend dyed, and he looked at it and drooled.)

My sweet husband brought home flowers for me! These are called "Sun Stars", aren't they fun? And my Mom sent me this card for Nicholas. I showed it to Brian, excited about how cute it was. He responded with a sarcastic remark about how much Nicholas is going to care about that card. Thanks honey.

Baby GAP shirts tucked into corduroys = instant cuteness.

Someone was a little sleepy after our walk today...

It amazes me how every year on Easter I am hit with the truth of the Gospel all over again. It's not that I don't think about Jesus any other day of the year; Easter is just a beautiful time to focus on and celebrate Jesus' death and resurrection with others. I was reminded of my labor, at how the pain I was in brought new life into the world. It's beautiful and humbling how the terrible pain that Jesus suffered ultimately brings life into the world. He gave up His comfort, physical well-being, and ultimately His life so that we could have eternal life. He's a good God, who conquered death on our behalf.
