Pint-Sized & Pregnant #3: Trying to Beat My Husband at Gaining Weight

Here's that giant belly again. Seriously, people were shocked daily at the fact that I was standing up. And I don't blame them. Normally I'm a pretty tiny person, so this giant orb attached to my belly was quite odd looking. You may want to throw something at me when I say this, but I was actually kind of excited to gain weight while I was pregnant. I wanted to have a little party for weighing over 100 pounds because in my whole pre-pregnant life, I had never weighed in the triple digits. Now I think I'm going to have a party if I ever weigh under 100 pounds again.

Brian and I when I was around 5 months pregnant

Nearer to the end of my pregnancy, Brian and I started a competition of who weighed more. He had gotten sick on a recent trip to Guatemala and had lost a lot of weight, so he was trying to gain his weight back. Each time I got on the scale at the doctor's office, he was triumphant. But about 3 weeks before Nicholas was born, I finally tipped that scale and promptly rubbed it in Brian's face. I'm such a loving wife.

Now I am happy to say that I weigh a lot less than Brian does! I still have a few pounds to go, but I'm starting to get comfortable with this extra belly and the stretch marks that look like I took on a lion. They are part of how my little guy entered the world, and I would not trade him for a perfect body any day.

Nicholas and I are getting ready to head off on our adventure today! We leave for the airport in about an hour. I'll give an update tomorrow about how our traveling went!
